Hall Effect Sensor

Do you need a Hall Effect sensor? Let’s see what makes it very special and what functions it provides!
Firstly, output pin toggles when there’s a nearby magnet which is very important for making it behave for a robust presence sensor. And although a reed sensor works great, it is still limited by the glass encapsulation and size, and then Hall Effect sensor comes along the way, it handles less current than a reed switch; note that the size of it is much smaller than the reed one.
The device includes the following:
• on-chip Hall voltage generator for magnetic sensing
• a comparator that amplifies the Hall voltage
• Schmitt trigger to provide switching hysteresis for noise rejection
• open-collector output
In addition to that, to provide temperature compensated supply voltage for internal circuits and to allow a wide operating supply range, an internal bandgap regulator is used.
A very important note is to be careful when DO is turned on or off.
DO is turned on (low) when a magnetic flux density larger than threshold Bop. The output state is held until a magnetic flux density reversal falls, therefore causing DO to be turned off (high).
