How does this small force sensitive resistor work? Firstly, this product comes from Interlink Electronics; it has a 0.16" (4 mm) diameter active sensing area and it has a resistance that will start to change and vary depending on the pressure applied to it, this means that whenever pressure increases, resistance gets lower; therefore, resistance becomes 2.5kΩ with full pressure. On the other hand, resistance becomes larger than 1MΩ when no pressure is applied.
In order to make the bread board easy to use and super friendly, there are 2 pins extending from the bottom of the sensor with 0.1” pitch, this makes it better and more preferable for users.
What’s amazing about these sensors is the fact that they’re extremely easy to set, and although sensing pressure is not very accurate and not preferred to use as a scale but it still does great if you don’t need a 100% accurate result. Also, use them to sense if it’s being squeezed.
