Although the size of it is small, it is still powerful; it’s designed in a way that is helpful as much as possible in supplying power. All it requires is inserting an AAA battery, flipping the power switch and that’s it, 5V will be supplied to power the LilyPad circuit. It works well up to 200mA, and there’s protection for short circuit.
An important feature is that the AAA battery accepts an input of 1.2V to 5V, another alternative is the lithium polymer batteries, and they’re rechargeable as well.
What is a LilyPad? Basically, it’s a wearable technology, it’s designed in a way that accepts having large connecting pads, this allows them to be sewn into clothing, they’re washable, and also many inputs, outputs, power, and sensor boards are available.
